Mysty Q Cat

Happy Summer everyone! In this issue I have had the pleasure and privilege to interview Mysty Q Cat. I'm sure many of you remember Mysty. She ran Furship in CLAW and TCMC, as well as in Fur and Fang. Furship is still running today. So you can well imagine how pleased I was when she agreed to do an interview with me for the Zine, and here is is:

Twinkles: How old are you?

Mysty: Meowmie and I have stopped counting, but believe I am now a ripe old 14!! It seems somehow I let two years blend into one, teehee.

Twinkles: How very interesting! Where do you live?

Mysty: We live in central New Jersey near the ocean shore area. Its very nice in Summer, but the winters are cold.

Twinkles: I know well the cold winters, since I live in Rhode Island. How long have you been online running Furship? When and how did Furship get started?

Mysty: Mew have been online since a kitten, and began Furship during CLAW's heydey!! I was still somewhat young then, but learned responsibility from Meowmie and attended CLAW University. Furship started as a guild at CLAW and then moved to TCMC, but it has remained its own Lodge now with affiliations. It is still running, though I haven't had as much time as I used to, with many responsibilities, and my secretary working full time. We keep hoping Meowmie will get more time and be able to update it soon. It will remain open, and now I have my younger sister, Storme, to help too. It's so very nice to just hang out at the lodge with all my furriends!!!

Twinkles: Yes, our whole Tyger's Den Family loved being in Furship, although that was before my time. Do you have a wink?

Mysty: I had the most fantabulous wink named Moke. My heart still remains with him across the Rainbow Bridge. He and his meowmie are dearly missed.

Twinkles: Yes, my meowmie knew Moke's meowmie well and misses her. We all miss Moke in our family. He was a good furriend. What groups are you active in?

Mysty: I am a Petsburgh member and still belong to the CLAW chat group at Yahoo Groups. I stay active with purring in the Purring Paws group. I am a member of the Desfurrado's and go on biking trips with them. Also, am a member of Fat is Fun, where we enjoy our plump furriness. The Furship chat group is still open also, and I hope to update it in the future.

Twinkles: Great kitty minds think alike! I too am in the Desfurrados! What do you admire in a cat? Who do you most admire?

Mysty: I admire loyal cats who stay true to the cat way of life! Keeping a sleek coat and upright tail are so important to me, especially with my allergies. I admire a sense of humor like with Garfield. There are so many cats I admire online in the groups.

Twinkles: What are your favorite toys and foods?

Mysty: My furravorite toy is Q-tips. I can bat them around for a long time, but not as much as I used too. I always take time for a good catnap. Mom has bought round hair ties, things that Storme prefers, but I still like a good ole Q-tip. My favorite food is fancy feast in the can, but I have to live with 9 lives on a daily basis *sigh*.

Twinkles: I know what you mean. We don't get canned food around here too often either. Meowmie says it's too expensive. Are you an indoor cat?

Mysty: Yep! 100% indoor cat. When I take a nap, I go on the purrarents bed and spread out in all my glory, no outdoor buggies bothering me!! Truth be known, I probably wouldn't know what to do if I were out in the great outdoors long without purrarental care.

Twinkles: Me, too! Who is your human and how did you find her?

Mysty: My meowmie is Lee, and she found me at a local zoo shelter. She looked at all the adoptee's and held them all, but settled on me. It was luff at first purr!!

Twinkles: Awwwww, how sweet! You were very lucky! How did you find your forever home?

Mysty: Through the shelter as I said. Meowmie took me right home that day and we have been together ever since!! They treat me royally, its super here!!

Twinkles: I'm glad you are happy there. What siblings do you live with in your forever home?

Mysty: I have a dog sisfur, who is getting old too, she thinks I am her toy to chase, but one good swat usually sends her running! My newer sisfur, Storme, is now about 4 years old, acts like the dog is her momfur and annoys her by always trying to sleep against her.

Twinkles: We have dogs at our house, too, but they are nice. Is there anything interesting you'd like our readers to know about you?

Mysty: Well, I'm really not interesting, but try to be a good and friendly cat. I am a great catnapper. I can nap through storms etc. I can nap all day if need be!!! even Storme is leery of waking me up when I'm napping! I enjoy some funz and luff making graphics online, when I have time, especially for Furship. I also enjoy keeping up with my furriends in the chat mails, so many are furriends from the old CLAW days.

Twinkles: Well, thank you very much, Mysty. That was very interesting. In closing is there anything else you wish to say to our readers?

Mysty: I'm Wishing every cat a Happy Summertime with lots of catnip!
